Job Summary
The Program Director for the Competency-Based Theological Education (CBTE) Program will provide strategic and operational leadership for a new, mission-advancing initiative within Bethel Seminary.
In close collaboration with the Dean of the School of Theology and Bethel Seminary, this role will design, launch, and oversee a CBTE pathway offering the Master of Divinity, Master of Arts in Ministry, and related certificates. The Program Director will build and implement the program’s academic structure, develop supporting systems and processes, ensure compliance with accreditation standards, and cultivate strong partnerships with internal stakeholders, external organizations, and faculty mentors.
This position plays a central role in shaping an innovative, Christ-centered learning experience that prepares students to serve the church with wisdom, character, and practical ministry competence.
This position is located in Arden Hills, MN. The starting salary for this role is $75,000 annually.

Required Skills
Required Experience
o Proven ability to plan and execute a complex project within established parameters and budget.
o At least three (3) years experience working in higher education.
o Experience in leading innovative change in an organization.
Preferred Experience
o Work with Competency-Based Theological Education (CBTE) or Competency-Based Education (CBE)
Required Education
o Seminary master’s degree required, with strong preference for Master of Divinity
Preferred Education
o Doctoral degree in seminary-area discipline
Additional Information
Typically, days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, with the expectation to work specific schedules and hours as identified and communicated by management. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. This is a full-time, 12 months per year position.
