Job Summary

In this dynamic role, you’ll play a key part in shaping the success of our students by support clinical placements, collaborating closely with placement and partnership specialists on the team, and providing  communication between students, faculty, and staff in the Education Unit. You’ll also contribute to the department’s success by assisting with events, supporting scholarship coordination and admissions efforts.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities

  1. Clinical Placement and Partnership Support – 60%
    1. Support all aspects of clinical placements for the department.
    2. Collaborate with department partners (both internal and external).
    3. Serve as the liaison between the department, students and school systems.
  2. Department Activities Coordination - 25%
    1. Support the Associate Dean, faculty and other staff in hiring student workers.
    2. Coordinate and support department specific events.
    3. Serve as the liaison between the department and the Conference and Events Services team.
    4. Manage the departments social media profiles.
    5. Serve as the department’s primary point of contact, providing a welcoming presence to students, faculty, and visitors.
    6. Oversee and respond to inquiries in the department email inbox, ensuring timely and effective communication.
  3.  Department Scholarship Coordination – 10%
    1. Responsible for the collection, organization, and management of scholarship materials.
    2. Coordinate the scholarship decision making process.
    3. Serve as the liaison with our University Advancement team to coordinate scholarship decisions.
  4. Department Admissions Coordination – 5%
    1. Prepare and collect student application materials.
    2. Coordinate and support Introduction to Education faculty.
    3. Distribute, maintain, and communicate student admission status and updates.
    4. Monitor and report on progress regarding probationary status.

Experience

No previous experience required.

Education

Associate’s degree.

Additional Information

Travel: This position requires no travel.

 

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as desktop and/or laptop computers, photocopiers and smartphones.
