Job Summary

Responsible for custodial maintenance of educational facilities, and main point of contact for Anderson Center lessees and mail room operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day custodial needs of educational facilities and maintain relationships with contracted cleaners.
  • Manage relationships with Anderson Center lessees by being their main point of contact for issues and general communications.
  • Work closely with Event services coordinator to ensure conference center room set ups.
  • Be the main point of contact for mail room operations currently managed by a third party operator.
  • Coordinate broad procurement opportunities across the University.
  • Work closely with the Director of facilities technical operations in coordinating building and technical maintenance projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Must possess strong organizational skills and be capable of working independently and as a team member.
  • Experience with Microsoft office and other project related software.
  • Strong influencing skills, ability to build trust with community in order to recommend solutions.
  • Must be a self-starter and self motivated, utilizing resources, both direct and indirect, in order to assure deliverables are being met.

Experience

Required:

  • 10+ years of demonstrated experience in facilities maintenance and custodial services.

  • Supervisory experience with an emphasis on team building with varied trade skills, abilities and experience levels.

  • Experience at coordinating with several constituencies including faculty, staff and contracted resources.

Education

Required:

  • Undergraduate degree and/or 10 years progressive work experience.

Additional Information

  • Must be able to be on your feet for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift weights up to 50 pounds and use electronic equipment.
  • This position is considered essential personnel and must be available outside of normal work hours if needed to support emergency response, contingency operations including snow removal, and support of special events during evening and week-ends.
