Job Summary

Perform duties of a custodian, as well as other duties related to facilitates management operations, with exceptional customer service.  Cleans the interior of buildings.

Responsibilities

1. Clean and maintain assigned areas. –  50% 

  • Clean and service lavatories.
  • Clean and sanitize surfaces.
  • Vacuum carpets and rugs.
  • Collect loose debris and deposit it in the appropriate receptacles.
  • Remove and replace full receptacle liners and place full liners in the appropriate collection area.
  • Clean receptacles when necessary.
  • Mop and sweep floors, stairs and other hard surfaces.  

2. Completion of work orders, radio calls and projects as assigned by the shift supervisor. - 40%

  • Responds to work orders and radio calls.
  • Assist with summer conferences set up and take down.  
  • Assist conference and events services with event set up and take down.

3. Assist with Deliveries - 10%

Required Skills

  • Able to move moderately heavy items.
  • General knowledge of cleaning terms and safety procedures.
  • General knowledge of Google suite, Microsoft Office Suite and event planning software.

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent.

Work Environment:

This job requires working with and around chemicals and complies with environmental health and safety requirements and procedures as outlined by University and State policies and directives.

Expected Hours of Work:

  This is a 40 hour per week, 12 months per year position. Typical working hours are on 1st Shift (8:00 am – 4:00 pm), Monday – Friday. Some overtime may be required. This position is considered essential personnel and must be available outside of normal working hours if needed to support contingency operations such as snow removal or support of special events.
