  • Job Summary

    Responsible for the overall strategic oversight and administration of employee benefits, payroll, and human resources information systems functions.


    • Provides strategic oversight and day-to-day management for employee benefits and payroll administration and oversees the staff responsible for those results.
    • In partnership with business office and ITS leadership, oversees and coordinates the fiscal and calendar year end budget process for staff and faculty salaries.
    • Oversees the human resources information system. Includes management of all HR and payroll point releases.
    • Oversees the staff and faculty accommodations process.
    • Serves as the institution’s Privacy Officer and ensures compliance with all HIPAA policies and procedures.
    • As requested by senior leadership, leads the implementation of human resources operations initiatives.
    • Implement the staff annual salary increase process.
    • Prepares reports in response to data requests.

    Required Skills

    • Proficient knowledge of state and federal regulations and benefit rules and regulations.
    • Effective oral communication, writing, organizational, problem solving, and group leadership skills.
    • Proven ability to solve complex math problems.
    • Proven ability to handle multiple tasks at any given notice and in pressure situations.
    • Strong interpersonal, team-building, and coaching skills.
    • Proven self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
    • Highly proficient in Microsoft office suite and have demonstrated skills in database management and record keeping.
    • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in a professional manner is essential.

    Required Experience

    Four years of experience working in human resource administration; supervision experience is required.

    Required Education

    Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, or Organization Development or equivalent required. Masters’ degree preferred, PHR/SPHR preferred.

    Additional Information

    • Must be able to work in a sitting position at a computer for extended periods of time.
    • This is a 1.0 FTE, 12 month position.
