  • Job Summary

    To provide proactive education and just-in-time support for faculty and student use of teaching and learning technology for both face-to-face and distance learning, as well as to provide media design services to the University, especially for distance/online learning.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide media design expertise to the TLT team especially for distance/online learning by consulting with faculty as they design their own media, directly designing media, maintaining standards for media design and cross-training other members of the TLT team. This includes, but is not limited to recording and editing faculty presentations (audio and/or video), developing digital presentations, training faculty to use media development tools, converting faculty presentations for web use, providing quality assurance, providing guidance to course developers (SME’s) and other academic media content developers, managing academic media projects, and performing other production tasks.
    • Educate and support faculty and students in the integration of technology into the teaching and learning process. This includes, but is not limited to, presenting workshops, developing web and print resources that aid in this process, and providing just-in-time support.

    Required Skills

    Must demonstrate informed use of technology to facilitate teaching and learning.
    Must demonstrate knowledge and application of learning theories and instructional design techniques.
    Must demonstrate expertise related to software (e.g., Adobe Premier, Adobe Captivate, Adobe Photoshop, Pro Tools, etc.) and equipment (e.g., cameras, microphones, lights, etc.) used to create, edit, and deploy images, audio, and video.
    Must demonstrate aesthetic awareness when designing images, audio, and video.
    Must demonstrate capacity to design media collaboratively with content experts, including conceptualization, direction and production.
    Must demonstrate informed use of media and technology to facilitate teaching and learning.
    Must demonstrate an understanding of current issues in higher education.

    Required Experience

    Two years of professional experience in instructional technology, media design, distance education, or a related field required.

    Required Education

    Master’s degree or equivalent post- baccalaureate education in instructional technology, media design, distance education, or a related field required.

    Additional Information

    Must be able to work in a sitting job at a computer for extended periods of time. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
    1.00 FTE/12 months; may require some evening and weekend work.
