  • Job Summary

    Manages the nursing admissions process, works collaboratively with the CAS Admissions Office to determine the number of nursing majors to be admitted to Bethel, and serves as a liaison between the CAS Admissions Office and the Nursing Department to schedule appointments for prospective nursing students. Performs secondary advising for pre-nursing students. Arranges schedules for incoming pre-nursing students. Works collaboratively with multiple departments. Compiles data to create and maintain accurate databases and online application information.



    • Manages all aspects of the application process for the Nursing Program for early high school direct admits, Bethel students, early transfer direct admits, and traditional transfer applicants. This includes establishing deadlines, monitoring GPAs for all applicants analyzing transcripts to determine eligibility, processing all application pieces, follow-up communication with applicants, and compiling a detailed and accurate report for the Nursing Admissions Committee to use to make decisions on applicants. Collaborates with the CAS Admissions Office to determine the number of pre-nursing majors to be admitted to Bethel.
    • Arranges schedules for incoming pre-nursing students. Conducts secondary advising for pre-nursing students. Assists freshman advisors by meeting with their pre-nursing students, answering advisor questions, and providing timely advising information. Reaches out to pre-nursing students not meeting Bethel GPAs and facilitates the process between advisors and departments. Works closely with the Department of the Registrar, Advising Center, AESC, and Career Development and Calling.
    • Provides first point of contact (phone, email, letters, and face to face) for all inquiries regarding the Nursing Program and the application process. Works as a liaison between the CAS Admissions Office and nursing faculty to arrange for student visits. Organizes and participates in departmental admissions events. Conducts nursing tours and meetings with prospective students and parents.
    • Maintains CAS student records, files, online application information, and databases for the Nursing Department.

    Required Skills

    Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

    Must be a proven self-starter and able to work independently and as part of a team.

    Must have demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

    Must have an ability to interact in a professional manner with faculty, staff, students, and the public.

    Must be detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.

    Must be able to handle sensitive, confidential information in a mature, professional manner.

    Required Experience

    2+ years of experience

    Required Education

    Post-high school training/coursework required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

    Additional Information

    Must be able to work in a sitting position at a computer for extended period of time.
    40 hours/12 months per year.
