  • Job Summary

    Manages the daily operations of CAPS, Seminary, and GS in the Office of the Registrar.

    Responsibilities

    • Leads the CAPS/SEM/GS registrar team to work collaboratively across the university to provide efficient and effective processing of student records. Supervises and sets direction for the team projects, processes, and systems
    • Manages the registration process and works collaboratively with Student Success and Retention, faculty, and students. Responsible for configuration of terms and registration in the student information system.
    • Responsible for communication associated with registration.
    • Responsible for reviewing and updating student academic records, including academic progress and grade processing.
    • Maintains a working knowledge of academic policies, procedures, and curriculum and serves on committees that impact academic policy. Reviews catalog policy as needed.
    • Serves as Certifying Official for students receiving federal Veterans’ Administration benefits.
    • Develops and maintains coding for new and revised programs.
    • Facilitates FERPA training as needed.
    • Serves as back-up to Assistant Registrar and Registrar as needed.
    • Provides miscellaneous reports that relate to registrar services.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Required Skills

    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and computerized student information systems is necessary, Banner preferred.
    • Effective oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to interact effectively with faculty, students, administrators and staff are required.
    • Excellent attention to detail.
    • Ability to supervise a team.
    • Proven self-starter and be able to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Must be able to organize, prioritize, and handle multiple duties.
    • Must be able to handle sensitive, confidential information in a mature, professional manner and be familiar with FERPA.
    • Understanding of adult education preferred.

    Required Experience

    3+ years of progressively responsible experience in a registrar’s office or similar academic administrative situation.

    Required Education

    Bachelor’s degree, with a master’s degree preferred.

    Additional Information

    Must be able to work in a sitting position at a computer for extended periods of time.
    This is a 1.0 FTE, 12 month position.

    Will occasionally require some evening and weekend hours.
