  • Job Summary

    Share responsibilities with Student Life deans for conduct, care, mentoring, and assisting students with personal and education related issues; educational programming; and student leadership development.

    Responsibilities

    • Serves as a point person for facilitating and assigning conduct and care cases to other staff, ensuring consistency, accountability, and staff support.
    • Part of student conduct and care leadership team, providing leadership to one of the weekly meetings and consulting on various cases.
    • In conjunction with the Dean of Student Programs and other Student Life deans, serves as a point of contact for the medical clearance process.
    • Shares general responsibilities with Student Life deans for conduct and care meetings, mentoring conversations, and assisting students with personal and education related issues.
    • Collaborates with other Student life deans on educational programming and student leadership development. Works with Dean of Student Programs and other campus offices on proactive programming in the areas of student thriving and well-being with topics such as, but not limited to, alcohol, mental health, healthy living, and spiritual growth.
    • Administrative follow-up and reporting, OIS forms, Stop-out/ withdrawals, and other student care projects as assigned.

    Required Skills

    Knowledge of and ability to apply student development theory.
    Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills are necessary.
    Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills.
    Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills.
    Ability to work with a diverse student population in a variety of settings.
    Ability to work in a professional and confidential manner with all staff, students, parents, and publics is essential.
    Proficiency in word processing and budget management.
    Willingness to obtain technical training for the use of early alert software programs

    Required Experience

    Three+ years of experience in the field of college student development is required. Experience in student care and judicial processes.

    Required Education

    Master’s degree required; degree in Student Affairs, College Student Personnel, Leadership, Counseling, or a related field preferred.

     

    Additional Information

    40 hours weekly/ 12 months yearly
