  • Job Summary

    Responsible for assisting in all functions of the sports information office.

    Responsibilities

    Assists the Assistant AD for Strategic Communication and Marketing in the ownership and maintenance of web materials and content including:
    • Managing the creation, uploading and organization of game stats
    • Maintain social media channels and other electronic communication
    • Feature stories and game recaps on BethelRoyals.com
    • Manage/produce videos posted to media sites
    Operates as the site manager for Sports Information at the majority of the home contests
    Produce GameDay programs for Football, Volleyball, Soccer, Basketball, Hockey, Baseball and Soccer
    Collaborate with the Assistant AD for Strategic Communication and Marketing for design and production of GameDay shells/posters for each sport
    Liaison to athletic organizations, including nominating Bethel athletes and coaches for various local and national awards

    Required Skills

    • Strong writing and editing skills
    • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills
    • Knowledge of a variety of sports
    • Experience with sports statistics software (i.e., StatCrew)
    • Preferred experience: InDesign, Adobe, website management, photography skills, and video experience
    • Demonstrated ability to develop collaborative relationships to effectively accomplish common purpose
    • Knowledge of branding concepts and purposes
    • Working knowledge of NCAA, MIAC and institutional rules and regulations
    • Social media

    Required Experience

    1 - 2 years of progressive experience in the area of sports information

    Required Education

    Bachelor degree in communications, English, sports management, or similar field required; Masters preferred

     

    Additional Information

    Requires active participation of administering practices and games. Hours vary and include nights and weekends.
