  • Job Summary

    Assist in the preparation and revision of financial aid awards, and provide financial aid counseling for students and their families.

    Responsibilities

    • Prepares financial aid awards and revisions 
    • Counsels students and parents.-Provides customer service for students and their families, including appointments, emails and phone contact. 
    • Assists with verification of financial aid records 
    • Stays current on financial aid regulatory requirements 
    • Special projects/clean up (including calculating MN state grant units)

    Required Skills

    • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in written form to both individuals and groups. 
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. 
    • Working knowledge of Banner financial aid software (preferred).
    • Detail-oriented, but able to see the whole picture and apply regulations to individual situations. 
    • Proven ability to work independently, and manage time, and work with confidential information.

    Required Experience

    Two years office experience; financial aid experience preferred

    Required Education

    Bachelor’s Degree required

     

    Additional Information

    • Must be able to work in a sitting position at a computer for extended periods of time. 
    • Applicant must be able to bend and stoop to file documents in four-drawer file cabinets; able to lift boxes weighing up to 25 pounds.
    • This is a 40 hours per week, 12 months per year position.
    • Must not be in default on any Title IV loans. Occasional travel to training and conferences.
