Job Summary

Provides oversight for the Service programs within Facilities management – Building Services, Grounds and Facility Office support.


  • Oversight to Building Service Program ensuring excellent experience within all of Bethel’s facilities. (Provide program leadership, team direction and budget management.) 
  • Oversight to Grounds Program ensuring excellent experience on all of Bethel’s grounds. (Provide program leadership, team direction and budget management.) 
  • Oversight to Facility Office Support. (Administrative Support to All Facility programs in the areas of Front Desk, TMA, EMS, Finance) 
  • Oversee Facilities Management Operational Budget. (Budget Development, Oversight, Training for team members.) 
  • Ensure Excellent support for Community programming on behalf of Facilities Management.
  • Oversee tenant relationships, tenant communications, and lease collaboration (Anderson Center and Dunlop)


Required Skills

  • Must have a strong customer orientation that is committed to providing an excellent experience to the Bethel Community.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing is essential. Must be able to interact effectively with a wide variety of individuals including faculty, staff, students, contractors and vendors.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills and be capable of working independently and as a team member in many different situations.
  • The leadership style must be a self-starter and self-motivated. Utilizing resources both direct and non- direct reports are very important assuring that deliverables are being meet.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and environmental health and safety.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat strongly preferred. Demonstrated skills with word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation graphics applications are required. Experience with project management and estimating related software desired.

Required Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in business administration or related field. 
  • Experience managing the facilities-related needs of multiple commercial-sized buildings, properties, athletic fields, and grounds as well as demonstrated effective oversight of daily service is required.
  • A working history which includes supervisory experience with an emphasis on team building with varied trade skills and experience levels required.
  • Experience with budget analysis, and responsibility for developing and tracking annual operating budgets is required.

Required Education

Bachelor’s degree required in business administration or related field.  Master’s preferred.

Additional Information

  • Must be able to work in a sitting position at a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to traverse the exterior and interior of buildings and the overall campus grounds to evaluate work needs and project progress.
  • Complies with environmental health and safety requirements and procedures as outlined in University and State policies and directives.
  • This position is considered essential personnel and must be available outside of normal work hours if needed to support emergency response, contingency operations such as snow removal or support of special events during evening and week-end assignments. 
  • Summer maintenance work presents unique demands on the department and vacation opportunities are normally limited during Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends due to graduation and welcome week events. Also, vacations are normally limited beginning the first full week of August through Labor Day due to the wrap-up of summer projects and preparation for the start of the school year. 
  • This is a 1.0 FTE, 12 month position. May be required to work outside normal business hours as necessary to complete essential functions.
