The Mental Health Counselor works with the Counseling Services staff to provide mental health counseling for students and to consult with staff and faculty regarding student mental health concerns.
Minimum: 1 year of experience assessing and providing mental health counseling for university students.
2 years of practice post-licensure and experience charting in an Electronic Medical Record preferred.
Required: Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or closely related field.
Required: Provisionally licensed as a mental health provider in the State of Minnesota (LAMFT or LPC).
Preferred: Licensed, or license eligible, as a mental health provider in the State of Minnesota (LP, LMFT, or LPCC) by November 1, 2018.
Must be able to work in a sitting position for extended periods of time.
Position works 40 hours per week; Monday-Friday, 9 months per year. Position generally works August 27 to May 26.
Limited vacation approved when the College of Arts and Sciences classes are in session.
