Job Summary

Coordinate communication about CAS academics; serve as a liaison between academic departments & programs, Academic Affairs and other Bethel offices (e.g. Admissions, Communication & Marketing, Advancement, Parent and Family Relations); coordinate academic chapel; oversee administration of course evaluations

Responsibilities

  • Manage websites for Academic Affairs office, grants, and faculty development websites; Collaborate with Web Services and academic departments to maintain departmental and program web pages and create new pages as needed; Serve as academic affairs liaison for Bethel portal 
  • Gather information from department chairs & program directors about student achievements, faculty accomplishments, and significant events, and use that information to develop promotional materials in collaboration with Marketing and Communication; 
  • Coordinate the academic catalog using CourseLeaf software; receive process, track and manage all new courses, majors/minors and changes to courses and curricula and academic policies; informs Registrar about changes
  • Oversee administration of CAS course evaluations for academic year and summer school; provide evaluation information for faculty review processes, such as tenure and promotion
  • Collect and disperse revenue from College-in-the-Schools; provide administrative support for deans and faculty as needed

Required Skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic editing software, Photoshop or other design software. 
  • Must be detail-oriented and a creative, resourceful problem-solver. 
  • Demonstrated strong writing skills and visual design abilities. 
  • Thorough knowledge of writing mechanics, style and grammar.
  • Able to work effectively and collaboratively with academic and administrative departments.
  • Must possess excellent time management skills and strong organizational ability to work within multiple deadlines, as well as excellent people skills.
  • Demonstrated capacity to generate and complete projects with a high degree of independent initiative. 
  • Demonstrated ability to be innovative and eager to learn new approaches.

Required Experience

1+ year’s of communications-related experience with an increasingly complex set of responsibilities.

Required Education

Bachelor’s degree required; emphasis in English, Communications, Graphic Design, or Journalism preferred.

Additional Information

 

  • Can function in a busy environment with many potential interruptions. Ability to prioritize a wide variety of demands from many different departments and individuals. Must be able to work at a computer station for extended periods.
  • 40 hours per week, 12 months per year position.
