Job Summary

Oversees front-of-house operations for concerts, conferences and events; serves as a team member during summer conference operations.


  • Manages Benson Great Hall front of house operations to ensure safety standards are upheld for all guests; oversee all public areas in Community Life Center. Works closely with Technical team and Box Office team to ensure concert / event runs on time.
  • Hires, trains, schedules and supervises head ushers and student ushers. 
  • Provides on-site event support for Conference and Event Services as assigned.
  • Provides office support for summer conference operations primarily late afternoon - evenings and weekends.
  • Coordinates usher timesheets, compiles billing statements and submits charges; tracks attendance and keeps records for all Benson Great Hall events 

Required Skills

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products. Experience with Event Management Systems software preferred.
  • Ability to handle difficult patron situations with professionalism
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills required with the ability to relate to people of all business and social levels. 

Required Experience

2+ years in a customer-service related field. Experience in concert or event planning is preferred.

Required Education

Associate’s degree or currently pursuing an undergraduate degree required

Additional Information

  • 20 hours per week, 11 months. 
  • August 16 through July 15
  • Must be able to work flexible hours as dictated by the time of the events that are worked, including many nights and weekends.
