Job Summary

Oversee student academic records for CAS in conjunction with Associate Registrar.  Responsible for creating and maintaining degree evaluations, processing petitions, clearing graduates, awarding degrees, and supervising student workers.


  • Processes graduation holds and applications, updates student curriculum, informs students and advisors of remaining requirements, awards degrees, and processes degree verifications. Tracks potential graduates and communicates with Academic Affairs about Commencement.
  • Manages and processes new and revised curriculum (degree evaluations) in student information system for all schools. 
  • Oversees and processes substitutions and/or waivers of degree requirements and communicates with students and faculty.
  • Processes diploma orders and reorders.
  • Oversees maintenance of student files in records room.
  • Supervises student workers for CAS Registrar team.
  • Manages and processes records for re-enrolling students

Required Skills

  • Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite and relational databases and student information systems is required, Banner and DegreeWorks preferred.
  • Ability to learn logical constructs and program-related syntax
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with faculty, students, administrators and staff are required.
  • Detail oriented, excellent analytical and problem solving skills essential.
  • Proven self-starter and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to critically assess and evaluate individual requests, use appropriate independent judgment, and accurately and consistently apply policy and process.
  • Must be able to handle sensitive, confidential information in a mature, professional manner and be familiar with FERPA.
  • Understanding of liberal arts education is preferred.

Required Experience

One to three years of progressively responsible experience in a registrar’s office or similar academic administrative situation. Supervisory experience preferred.

Required Education

Bachelor’s degree required, with a master’s degree preferred.

Additional Information

Must be able to work in a sitting position at a computer for extended periods of time.

This is a 1.0 FTE, 12 months per year position. Will require some nights and weekends during registration and incoming student events.
